Goraka or Garcinia Gummi-gutta is a tropical species, mainly native to South Asia and Southeast Asia. Goraka has been used in Sri Lanka since ancient times for culinary and medicinal purposes. It is naturally found in the local tropical rainforests of Sri Lankaand widely used for flavoring foods and making some traditional medicines. Goraka or Garcinia spice is becoming a prevalent spice in the world because of its potential as a dietary supplement for weight losses and cholesterol controllability. The compound most frequently suggested as the potential source of Garcinia cambogia’s supposed benefits is its Hydroxycitric acids, also known as HCA. This supplement is often sold as a weight loss aid. Research suggests that HCA is safe to consume in small amounts and may help reduce appetite in some people.
